About Us
The Fort Worth Rose Society is a non-profit gardening group serving the entire North Texas metroplex. The Society was founded September 1961 and is the premier rose society in North Texas.
The FWRS meets the first Tuesday of every month at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden.

Award Winning Article
Fort Worth Rose Society President, Leslie Garvis', article, “Mrs. Miniver’s Rose” in the January 2021 issue of the Rose Prose has won an Award of Merit in the 2021 ARS Newsletter Awards. This awards competition is held annually to select the best bulletins/newsletters from the national ARS local societies and districts. The competition is divided up into three categories and awards are given for each: Small Local Society Newsletters, Large Local Society Newsletters, and District Newsletters. [The FWRS Rose Prose was fortunate to win the second place Silver Award in 2010 and 2011, and the first place Gold Award in 2012 in the Small Local class.]
In addition, the seventeen national judges nominate outstanding individual articles for an Award of Merit (AOM). In 2021 the panel awarded 141 AOM’s out of the 423 articles that received a nomination and Leslie’s “Mrs. Miniver’s Rose” was one the winners.
